In the Japanese language Yumiko is defined by the word beauty. The details of beautiful landscapes, gardens, textures, and distinguishing colors of Japanese pictorial art were called upon when creating this collection of grasscloth wallcoverings. Yumiko represents a journey, and by doing that also represents the beauty of hopes and dreams.
A toile-like motif featuring beautiful blossoming trees, layered mountain tops, and cranes taking flight. Sagimai is offered in soft neutrals as well as pops of color.
The namesake of the collection, Yumiko features portraits of Japanese geishas holding either umbrellas or swords, with a slightly distressed finish, and is offered in earth tone colorways.
HIDA (shown above paired with Yumiko)
Hida features a grattage-like painting technique that creates textural interest through the laying of paint and then scraping away. Through this technique abstract silhouettes of landscape and rock appear in the far distance. Hida is offered in beautiful earth tone colorways.
A unique, overall stripe motif created by the alternation of raffia braids, and sheets of grasscloth. Kyoto is offered in primary colorways.
Kyoto pared with Shikoku
Shikoku features a beautifully soft, yet powerful motif of white caps and crashing waves from deep in the ocean. Offered in subtle and calming colorways.
AKITA
Featuring a traditional grasscloth technique, the Akita design has an intriguing strié effect, accomplished through the use of contrasting colors. Akita is offered in neutrals and earth tone colorways.
