Colony Roma from the House of Scalamandre

Colony Roma from the House of Scalamandre

The Colony Spring 2021 Introductions are a refined assortment of beautifully crafted fabrics, featuring Water Lilies and three textural grounds. Anything but “plain,” the designs are inspired by destinations far beyond, and quests written about in ancient literature. Textural and full of memories, they beautifully accompany the highlight design, Ninfee, a jacquard velvet pattern featuring graceful water lilies, with ease. Collectively the designs tell stories of adventures near and far.

NINFEE

In Italian, the name Ninfee means water lilies. The ancient Egyptians revered the Nile water lilies, which were known to them as lotuses. The lotus motif is a frequent feature in temple column architecture, and inspired this design. This jacquard velvet, aquatic pattern is woven on a complex, four chain looms. A design full of grace and beauty, Ninfee offers a visual escape to a more romantic point in time and is offered in five moving colorways.
